What a licence actually buys
Four sentences most plugin vendors leave vague. We would rather you read them before you pay than after.
It buys updates and support, never permission
On WordPress the PHP is GPLv2 or later, because a plugin there has to be, and every platform gets whatever its own licence requires. You are paying for the updates, the support and the key. That is how every honest commercial plugin works, and we would rather write it down than be vague.
A lapsed licence keeps working
Stop paying and the plugin carries on. It stops receiving updates. There is no kill switch, no nagging banner across your admin, and no data held hostage.
One-time means one-time
We will not rename it lifetime and retire it in eighteen months. One-time includes a year of updates, after which the plugin keeps running exactly as it is.
